Hope for education and development – Head Ghana is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Charity, committed to the enhancement of useful education to under-privileged children in Northern Ghana by providing children with basic educational materials, building schools where they are highly needed and empowering rural women with a capacity for socio-economic security.
Working closely in line with national, governmental, non-governmental organizations, international charities and volunteers, the program seeks to increase its effectiveness in improving the lives of women and children.
Our objective is to form a socially, financially, environmentally and educationally self-sustaining model that is accessible to everyone.
The main principles and goals upon which HEAD was created is the development of the rural education and to contribute to the achievement of the millennium development goals signed at the UN in 2000.
- To provide equal access to quality education for all children irrespective of race, color, religion or geographical location.
- To complement the Government Free compulsory universal basic education program by ensuring that all children of school going age are in school
- To improve and strengthening of formal and non-formal education of children
- Empowerment and development of women in rural communities
- Building schools in places where they are really needed and requested, and use the schools to provide opportunities for all children regardless to ethnic group
- Recruitment, training and motivation of teachers to stay and teach in deprived communities.
- Increasing access to safe drinking water for rural areas
- Enhancing household economy through creation of income generating and micro-credit finance for women to lead better quality of life particularly for women-head families, disabled and displaced and other vulnerable groups. Head Ghana Meeting with Rural women
